PermaDeath // World Premier coming in September

It’s PermaDeath
My body a husk.
From dust to dust,
My self exploded
Into quarks and anti-quarks,
Letons, electrons, hadrons, bosons.

I’m very excited to announce I’ll be working with White Snake Projects and Director Sam Helfrich, lighting the world premier of the first ever Interactive Video Game Opera; Permadeath by Composer Dan Visconti. Librettist: Cerise Lim Jacobs.

From White Snake’s Website:

PermaDeath, or Permanent Death, is not tautologous in the world of videogames. Your avatar is “killed,” but rises again to fight another day. But what if it never rises again? What if it dies permanently? Watch the gods of the 21st century, our digital avatars, battle it out in cyber space in an epic fight to the death. Who will be left standing?

The creative team also includes Zane Pihlstrom (Set and Costumes), Curvin Huber (Digital Content Design), Mathew Solomon (Sound Design), and Catriona Baker (Director of Preproduction and Animation).

It will premier at the Emerson Cutler Majestic Theatre in Boston, MA on September 27th. Read more about the project here: http://www.whitesnakeprojects.org/projects/view/PermaDeath.
